I had a chance to participate in Django Girls Seoul Code Camp on the last chilly week of October.
The awesome experience I had in the previous Django Girls Seoul workshop made me to take part in this Code Camp. Now Christmas is coming, and every Saturday, I am on my coding project with fabulous members I met in Code Camp.
As a programmer, I always wanted to make my own application besides my work. One of my missions in 2015 was to distribute my own app on the Google Play Store. The server code was on python.
(which I love!!) Coaches of the Code Camp are helping my work.
The picture below is a simple block diagram I want to make. Based on the location information on the Android App, if the API is requested, recommended restaurant information is provided. I am working on
the API in Code Camp.
Especially in order to pull out quality information of the restaurants, my web crawled a 'Dining Code' website. Instructors of Django Girls Code Camp has given me a lot of help since I was a novice in python. With code reviews and questions they made, I could easily handle the job which could have been very devastating on my own. So at last, I distributed my app on Google Play Store! You can observe the code here 1 and here 2. All kinds of feedback are welcome :)
Recently I am working on transferring Mysql to PostgreSQL, Flask Framework to Django Framework. I am also
studying ORM(Object Relational Mapping) too. I am planning to add some more features. I do want to develop my app to the next level :)
Code Camp on Saturdays is so much fun.
It is really fun and helpful to talk with passionate programmers in Code Camp. You can feel yourself learning. I feel so sad there is only 1 week left.
I definitely want to participate in the next Code Camp :)
